DISCOVER THE MAGIC THAT IRRADIATE OUR FORESTS IN AUTUMN
Autumn is definitely a magical season in our forests. This magic remained reflected in a bountiful mythology with an endless beings and stories. Lamia, Mari, Basajaun or Olentzero are only some of the most known and Zugarramurdi coves or Irati forest are some of their habitual abode or spots where their rituals take place.
With this route network we want to transmit the magic that our forests irradiate in autumn.
Once more, the beautiful Casa Rural Haritzpe, in the small fishing village called Hondarribia, will be our base camp during this experience. Located at the hills of Jaizkibel mountain, from this haven we have access to our bast route network in few time.

Like always, you would have the occasion to enjoy through routes adapted to all the levels and requirements. We will ride in small groups with local guides.
The best season for maximum enjoyment of this holiday is from September to November. Is in this period when we would have the occasion to appreciate the magical colours in our forests. Anyway, most of this routes can be ridden during the whole year and our quality and flexibility commitment allows us to suit this holiday with your requirements and desires.
This season also offers the occasion to taste unique gastronomical products. Seasonal vegetables and bush-meat become important in our traditional diet.
Without any doubt this holiday will be a magical experience through our past that will allow you to know our ancestral culture.

RIDING ZONES
Even though the riding area of this route network covers the whole Basque Country, we have defined a main riding zone to minimize the transfer time to the routes from our base camp in Hondarribia.
At the main zone the transfer time takes from 5 to 45 minutes.
For the rest of the routes the average transfer time lasts between 60 and 90 minutes.
PLANNING
Before every route we do a little meeting to suit as much as possible the planning to the requirements and desires of the group. When we work with riders from the same group we are able to suit the routes 100% to your requirements.
We propose to do two excursions for week out of the main riding zone. Anyway, we are conscious that some people don’t want to do this kind of excursions because of the transfer time and we always propose other alternatives. Moreover, we let you choose the days that you want to rest or use to do alternative plans.
- MAIN ZONE
We meet at around nine in the morning and after a little briefing we start the day. We try to end the morning route at one after midday near from a typical bar or restaurant, where, if you want, we can have lunch.
At the end of the morning route we do a break to have lunch. We also do a meeting where we ask you for valuation of the route and we decide the planning for the afternoon.
After having lunch, you would have the opportunity to do another route or to continue with the morning route. After finishing the route, we will return to our base camp in Hondarribia. In a final meeting of few minutes we will detail the plan for the next day.
- EXCURSIONS
The excursions out from the main riding zone take all day long. In these excursions we will visit interesting places of the Basque Country where all day is needed to offset the transfer time (between 40 and 90 minutes).
We meet at around nine in the morning and after a little briefing we start with the day. In this case, we do the route in two parts, with a break in the middle for having lunch. After finishing the route we move back to our base camp.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE COST OF THE SERVICE
PRICE
In our service it’s included the guiding, the transfers and an insurance. The price varies significantly depending the days and the number of people you book for. The accommodation and the meals are not included in the price.
BIKES
We have some low range bikes to do moderate level routes (included in the price). The riders who don’t bring their bikes and/or want to ride with top quality bikes would have the occasion to hire them from about 70€/day.

We recommend the wonderful Casa Rural Haritzpe for your accommodation. This lovely hamlet located at hills of Jaizkibel offers luxury bedrooms in an unparalleled environment. Besides, they have especial deals for the people who ride with us.

After receiving our confirmation we pray you to organize the travel (book the flight, etc…) as soon as possible, for, if necessary adapt your holiday to the travel.
There are many options to arrive to Hondarribia. We recommend the plane for those who can’t come by car. It is also possible to arrive by train, by bus or by ferry. We have a picking up service for the people who arrives to the airports of Biarritz and Hondarribia, the train station of Hendaye and the bus station of San Sebastian.
